Barriers to homeownership seem to vary according to ethnicity.


Tight supply, access to credit, personal debt and lack of down payment are all challenges buyers face in the Silicon Valley market, and even the most affluent have to compromise.

But in a market where starter homes sell for over a million dollars, and often well over, the idea that, at that price, a home should be exceptional, is perhaps the biggest challenge.
